Have you ever wondered why some wines taste better than others, or age better or cost more?

There are numerous factors that affect the style of the wine in your glass. In this multi-part series of virtual tastings join us to discover how factors such as grape variety, soil, climate, vine age, bottle-age, oak, yeast, organic viticulture and much much more determine how your wine tastes!

In Part 1 we will compare 2 Rieslings from the Eden Valley, South Australia (this is a premium wine region famous for top quality Rieslings). We will compare a current vintage 2023 versus a 'museum release' 2016 example and see how ageing changes (improves?) this particularly age-worthy white wine.

We will then compare 2 red wines from the famed Douro Valley, Portugal.  Both wines are from the same producer (Quinta do Crasto) and from the same vintage (2022) one is the 'regular' bottling and the other is the 'Douro Superior' - we will look at what causes the difference in price/quality and which you prefer?!

Join us on a fascinating tasting to get deeper 'under-the-skin' and develop a better understanding of assessing each wines merits.
